Choose the Right Cosplay Costume

With so many great cosplay opportunities around, serious anime fans love to get creative with their costume creations. But how do you choose the right cosplay costume for you? Here’s some simple tips to help you pick the perfect costume every time.

Start by thinking big.

Come on… pull out your creative caps and pretend that your cosplay costume has no limits. If you could have any costume for any character, what would it be and how would it look? Think of as many as you can, no matter how outrageous they might be, and make a list. Why? Because cosplay is creative… ergo, you need to be creative too and the best way to get the juices flowing is to stretch those muscles a bit. Things to consider:

• Anime shows you really like

• Anime characters you really like

• Any costume that would just be really cool if you could make it

Toss out the obvious “no’s”.

What’s a “no”? Things you refuse to wear such as a mask or 5 inch heels, things that would be too bulky, too heavy or too hot and things you just don’t want to have to fool with. Once you’ve figured these things out, you can tweak your list accordingly. Things to consider:

•  Too hot/too cold for the season

• Heavy props and gear that you’ll have to tote around

• Masks, wigs and elaborate makeup that may become irritating after a while

• Comfortable shoes (you will be on your feet most of the time after all!)

• Something you can sit down in

Narrow your list.

Now look at what you have left and try to pick out your top three favorites. How do you do that? Here’s some criteria:

• Is the character one that people will recognize?

• Is the costume something I can actually make myself?

• Can I finish the costume with the amount of time/money I currently have?

• Will this costume be unique or will I probably look like most of the other cosplayers at the con?

• Can this costume stand on its own or do I need other cosplayers to complete the look?

Choose and get busy!

Making your final decision is really just going to be a matter of preference but you can probably pick your costume a little easier if you consider the following things:

• What do I already have on hand to make this costume?

• What kind of props will I need and how can I make them?

• Do I resemble the character in any way?

• How much outside help will I need to create my costume?

Tobi : Declaration of War

Name : Tobi @ Uchiha Madara

Tobi, as you all already know, is the leader of Akatsuki. He claims himself as Uchiha Madara.

In Naruto manga chapter 467, he told  his Moon Eye plan to all 5 Kage’s and later declare a 4th Ninja War against them after his plan was rejected. He also explains about the Rikudo Sage who once save the world by sealing the Ten-tailed beast,The Jubi inside his body and worshiped as a god by ninjas.

He also reveals his purpose to gather all tailed beast. To revive back the Jubi and then become the host to strengthen his eyes and be able to use the Mugen Tsukiyomi, which he claims the most powerful illusion ever. With this jutsu,he will be able to cast an illusion over everyone on earth and controls them.

Will his plan succeed? Will he be able to revive the Jubi? I can wait for the next manga chapter.

Sharingan

The Sharingan (Copy Wheel Eye) is a special type of eye that naturally appears in some of the members of the Uchiha clan. The Sharingan allows the user a number of abilities and is a dojutsu (pupil technique). One of the things Sharingan can do is that it can percieve and copy ninjutsu (ninja techniques), genjutsu (illusionary techniques), and taijutsu (hand-to-hand techniques) with perfect accuracy and allow the user to use the techniques, as long as they have the necessary resources (like chakra) to do so. Second, it is capable of a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent. Third, it can see through genjutsu, the level of which is possibly dependent on the user’s skill. Fourth, it has the ability to predict an opponent’s movement as well as allowing sight of fast moving objects with great clarity.

The weakness of the Sharingan, in Kakashi’s case, is that it drains chakra quickly. In order to copy a jutsu, one has to have the physical ability to perform the technique. For example, they have to have the needed amount of chakra, stamina, agility, and/or strength in order to perform said technique. In addition to physical skill, the Sharingan cannot copy any other bloodline abilities or summon a creature the user has not made a contract with because the user of the sharingan has to have the same blood of the other summoning user. In Itachi’s and Sasuke’s case, their chakra is still drained, but incredibly more slowly, due to the fact that they have the actual Kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan.

The Sharingan does not automatically appear from birth in a user; instead, it will usually appear when the user is in a life threatening situation, where the power of the Sharingan will save the user. After this first appearance, the user can then call up the Sharingan any time he or she pleases. (Due to its unique nature, Kakashi’s Sharingan seems to be "permanently on", and thus he covers it except during heated battles, to conserve chakra.) Interestingly enough, it is possible to transplant Sharingan eyes from one person to another, as is the case with Kakashi and his deceased comrade Obito Uchiha. However, transplanted eyes do not work as well without an Uchiha body, causing much more strain on the user. The power of the Sharingan is judged through the number of tomoe in the person’s eye. Introduction

This book contents information about missing-nins that are considered harmful and dangerous. This book keeps that lists records of these ruthful missing-nins and are considered to be on the “hit-list” if they commit any offensive actions. The book is a reference guide for the ninjas to know about the past and present crimes and illegal activity these highly-ranked criminals committed.

Listed below are missing-nins who have currently betrayed The Hidden Leaf Village and other allying villages. Many of them are considered to be of “S-Rank” class for their powerful skills. The dangerous ones are the only ones listed in the Bingo Book.

Hidden Leaf Village Missing-Nins

Orochimaru A ninja who is one of the Legendary Sannins, whom were taught by the Sandaime. He killed many innocent citizens to practice and master forbidden jutsus. His actions were considered illegal in The Hidden Leaf Village, and was dismissed of the Hokage position. He got angry by this and decided to leave The Hidden Leaf Village. He is an S-rank ninja who was once a part of the Akatsuki organization, deadly for their S-rank talents. He formed his own village called the Hidden Sound Village and keeps two other missing-nins from the Hidden Leaf Village as his subordinates – Kabuto Yakushi  and Sasuke Uchiha.

	Sasuke Uchiha The younger brother of Itachi and the only other survivor of the clan, he became the top ranking rookie in his class and activated his Sharingan at an early age. He has been burdened with anger and spite for his older brother because he had killed his clan. Orochimaru and his ninjas tempted Sasuke to come to the Sound Village to attain more power and strength so he can kill Itachi. At first Sasuke resisted, but after a brief and unexpected meeting with his brother Itachi who beat him up and came to look for Naruto, Sasuke became angry and wanted more power so he he left the village to join Orochimaru.

Itachi Uchiha The genius offspring of the prestigious Uchicha clan, he activated his Sharingan at a young age and became ANBU captain at the age of 13-years-old. His thirst for attaining more power and to test his limits of strength led him to massacre his own clan. He is currently a member of the Akatsuki organization. He is considered to be extremely powerful and dangerous and was able to defeat Kakashi Hatake without even lifting his finger. He is ordered by the Akatsuki to capture Naruto Uzumaki for the Kyuubi power that is contained within him.

	Kabuto Yakushi A skilled medical ninja who was taught by his respected foster father. He attended the Chuunin Exams numerous times, only to fail everytime. His actions were suspicious, and was discovered to be a spy for Orochimaru and the Hidden Sound Village.

Hidden Mist Village Missing-Nins

	Zabuza Momochi A murderous nin who is known for being a devilish silent killer. In the past, he killed over 100 shinobis in a final exam to finally become a genin. The Hidden Mist changed their examinations after that. As he grew older, his murderous intent never faded away and plotted to kill the Mizukage. His plan failed and he decided to flee to the Wave Country. He encountered a young boy with a bloodline named Haku. He became Zabuza’s apprentice. Zabuza is also part of a group called the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist because of his skills in the utilization of large and unique swords.
	Kisame Hoshigaki Kisame is one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, seven powerful ninja who utilize large and unique swords. Like everyone seen from the Hidden Mist Village, Kisame uses water element jutsu in combination with his powerful physical attacks. Before he left, Kisame was an elite Jounin in the Hidden Mist Village. He began to assassinate the local feudal lords in his village and than eventually left and joined the Akatsuki.
	Kimimaro Kaguya He is the offspring of the Kaguya clan and the soul survivor. Their bloodline consists of bones that can stretch, come out of their body, and use them as sharp weapons. His clan always had a murderous intent, on other people and even themselves. They foolishly massacred each other in their own village, and Kimimaro was the only one spared. Orochimaru observed the power and strength this clan had and decided to take Kimimaro in as his subordinate.

Hidden Mist Village Missing-Nin

Kakuzu Kakuzu seems to be male in the criminal organization known as Akatsuki. His reason for fleeing the Hidden Mist Village is unknown.

Hidden Rock Village Missing-Nin

Deidara A fancy and skillful fighter, with special mouths in the palm of each hand, he is able to manipulate clay into either a flight-capable clay bird that can support him or a a huge bomb that is capable of leveling a village without the use of exploding tags. Deidara’s left the Hidden Rock Village and joined Akatsuki. The reason for fleeing in unknown.

Hidden Rain Village Missing-Nin

Hidan Hidan is a religous-type of guy. He usually prays during his missions and takes hours doing so, making sure he has done it right. He is first shown in NARUTO with a large rope attached to a weapon resembling an axe and says that he is the slowest attacker in Akatsuki. His reason for fleeing the Hidden Rain Village is unknown.

Hidden Grass Village Missing-Nin

Zetsu Zetsu left the Hidden Grass Village and joined the organization known as Akatsuki. His intentions are history with his village are currently unknown.

Hidden Sand Village Missing-Nin

Sasori Flashbacks seem to indicate that his descent into darkness started when his parents died. He is a puppet master and controls puppets in combat. Sasori left the Hidden Sand Village twenty years prior to the start of the NARUTO series and joined Akatsuki.

Team Hawk

HAWK TEAM

Leader  :  Sasuke Uchiha

Members  :  Suigetsu Hozuki, Karin, Jugo

Team Hawk, formerly Team Snake, was formed by Sasuke Uchiha for originally one purpose: to find and kill Itachi Uchiha. After Sasuke’s encounter with Tobi, the group’s objective becomes to destroy Konohagakure.

The Gathering

After Sasuke defeated Orochimaru, he began to free captives held by Orochimaru. Among them were Mist Seven Ninja Swordsmen trainee Suigetsu, a kunoichi guard named Karin who can heal & sense chakra, and the original source of Orochimaru’s cursed seal power, Jugo. After gathering the group together, Sasuke revealed he planned to kill his brother Itachi. He then dubbed the group with their “Snake” name (Hebi in the original Japanese). Each member of the group has his own reasons to go with Sasuke:

• Suigetsu knows that Kisame Hoshigaki travels with Itachi & possesses the legendary sword, Samehada, and plans to get it for himself.
• Karin is just infatuated with Sasuke. Also she can sense chakra.
• Jugo was a friend of Kimimaro’s and wants to get to know the man Kimimaro gave his life to protect.

The hunt for Itachi

Sasuke led Snake to an empty city to get some weapons from some ninja cats that were allied with the Uchiha clan; here Suigetsu displays himself as an animal lover. Soon they split up and Sasuke runs into Deidara and Tobi, after a long fight, in which he loses his Sealed form’s left wing, Sasuke saves himself from Deidara’s self destruction by sacrificing Manda. After recovering, they set off to find Itachi and one of his shadow clones tells Sasuke to go to the Uchiha Mausoleum for the final duel.

In the way to the Mausoleum, Kisame Hoshigaki appears to halt the group, but he lets Sasuke continue. Snake is left to deal with Kisame, but they don’t fight. Suigetsu, and him recognize each other as former inhabitants of Kirigakure and have an unseen sparring session. With Itachi’s death, Snake’s purpose was fulfilled.

New Plan

However, after Sasuke’s battle with Itachi and his subsequent talk with Madara Uchiha about the “truth” of his village, Sasuke renamed Team Snake, to Hawk with a new single purpose, to destroy Konohagakure. They are now working together with Akatsuki for that reason. Working with Akatsuki, Team Hawk was ordered to capture the Eight Tailed Bull, while Akatsuki deals with the Nine Tailed Fox, and his Jinchuuriki; Naruto Uzumaki.

What is COSPLAY?

Introduction

1 .  Cosplay is a term that originated in Japan but is based on the English words “Costume Play,” essentially play-acting in costumes.

2 .  In Japan, CosPlay is not limited to anime/manga, but also a staple of many other entertainment industries such as science fiction and horror. In North America, the term CosPlay is reserved for anime/manga related costuming.

Categories

3 .  CosPlaying can be divided into two categories: basic cosplay and Masquerade.

• Basic cosplay only involves an attempt to look like a particular character, either in the halls of a convention or on stage,
• Masquerade is much more involved. When masquerading, CosPlayers attempt to act as the character would. They often have prepared skits with memorized lines, and the more advanced masqueraders can easily ad-lib their character’s personality.

4.  Some CosPlayers make their own costumes, investing large amounts of time and money in the process, while others buy their costumes from professional costume designers.
